9 reasons why being a trader is cool
- Author Anselme Nkondog
First, let's talk "down to earth", trading can sometimes be super discouraging and frustrating. Even professional traders sometimes have months of losing tricks, so do not be too hard on yourself when it happens to you. I think it's good to sometimes remember why we chose to do trading. A bit of positivity and a new focus on why we are all interested in trading can be a very powerful tool to help us refocus on what it takes to succeed.
The many articles and videos on the Web that deal with "trading problems" and "why trading is difficult" can simply be even more discouraging after a while. rest assured about this: trading is difficult, we all know it now. To remind you why you should continue in this path, let's now discuss 9 reasons why being a trader is one of the best professions in the world, if not the best.
1. The most obvious reason: financial freedom
The term "financial freedom" means more than just having enough money to not have to worry about bills and other everyday problems, but also about REAL freedom. Thinking and having the ability to earn enough money to live comfortably from anywhere in the world, needing only a computer and the Internet, is a powerful and motivating thought.
This freedom also means you do not need anyone to earn what you deserve, not to wait for years of hard work for a salary increase (sometimes it's a reduction) depending on the mood of your employer.
Being a successful trader does not just mean you can make a lot of money, but more importantly, it means you have freedom. You have the freedom to do what you want when you want it, and this freedom is priceless.
2. You are a tough guy.
Traders are people who are looking for a way out with dignity in life. A way out of the "matrix" that is modern work, with its schedules that should be respected only when it is necessary to arrive and not when it is necessary to return home in the evening. Who wants to spend most of his waking life making others earn more money than themselves? Trader sees the world for what it really is and not a fairy tale that society wants them to believe.
So, to be a trader, you must have a state of mind different from that of the mass. You are a "lone wolf" who takes a "me versus the world" mentality and you do not care what others think. When asked about trading, many people simply consider it "too risky" or that only an "elite" group can afford to do. These people are the masses, the "sheep" who are happy to stay asleep inside the "matrix". However, you want to be a trader, which means that you have the mentality of a "rock star" who does not accept the status quo that society has to offer.
3. Fleeing the employee's routine
Being a full-time trader would allow you to have a great life. Sit near the beach, relax, enter a trade from time to time throughout the month when you see a high-quality price action signal; not bad.
Getting up at 6 am (often even before) to get ready for a job you hate is not a very funny idea, we agree. Being a full-time trader would allow you to escape this form of modern slavery. I firmly believe that the way we all go to work 40 hours a week (or more) is just another form of slavery. Trading offers the opportunity to escape from this. It's not easy, of course, but at least it gives us a chance to enjoy real freedom. And even if you keep your job, it won't be because of money but for a reason specific to you.
4. Flexibility
The flexibility you get as a trader is all great. You do not have to worry about "absence from work" or "sick call" if you want to visit relatives or go on vacation. You can do your own schedule, travel wherever you want and do what you want when you want. For me, simply not being subject to the "rules" or schedule of someone else is one of the best assets to become a trader.
5. Family time
If you have children, being a trader allows you to spend more time with them and to be more present as they grow up. This is particularly rewarding when they are small and do new things every day. Spending 8 or 10 hours at work each day makes you miss at least half of your child's childhood as he gets older. You really can not put a price on having more time with your family. Being a home trader allows you to have that time.
6. You better understand the world
Being a trader helps you understand the strength differences of the different economies of the world. I am always amazed at how little people know about the exchange rates and relative strengths of different countries. As a currency trader, you focus on the price action of different currency pairs, which helps you understand the world in a more intimate and clear way than most other people who are not traders. For example, if you want to travel to another country, you probably already know the exchange rate difference between this country and yours, while most people have no idea.
7. Trading is eternal
The fact that transactions can be made by young and old is another important advantage. If you are a trader, you will never have to retire if you do not want to. You can trade all your life because it is obviously not a physical job and it can be done from your home. Becoming a qualified trader allows you to generate income throughout your life.
8. An equal playing field for all
It does not take a degree from a university to become a successful trader. It just requires determination, perseverance and especially discipline and patience. Anyone wishing to become a trader can learn from the base, without "preconditions". Some of the best trader in the world do not have a high school education. Even the illiterate can succeed as a trader if they so wish.
Thus, trading offers a real opportunity for anyone in the world who is looking for a different path in life, a path to true freedom from today's overly structured societal "norms".
9. Give back
Becoming a successful trader puts you in a unique position: helping others. Not only can you help financially your friends and family (which is also very cool), you also have the opportunity to pass on a skill to them. Something they can use to create their own freedom, as you did. It also gives you great internal satisfaction. This is one of the main reasons I started teaching people how to trade through my trading courses on this site and my training seminars. Life does not fill unless you can help others and make a difference in their lives, and that's certainly my goal with Salix NIgra.
